The Team

Derek is a leading expert in all aspects of construction management and development ranging  from vertical and horizontal construction to mixed use development, luxury residential, and resort with golf and modern marinas.  He guides clients effortlessly through due diligence, design engineering, cost evaluations, estimating, scheduling and purchasing.  As a professional, he works closely with architects, engineers, subcontractors and designers to ensure that everyone is on the same page throughout the project. 

Born and raised in the Bahamas, Derek studied Mechanical Engineering at Polytechnic of Central London and graduated from the University of Florida with his Bachelor of Science in Building Construction in 1985. After finishing at UF Derek worked in Florida for a large custom home builder and built some of the finest homes in Sailfish Point. He was also involved in commercial projects throughout Florida to include schools, strip malls, medical facilities, libraries, and office buildings. 

Derek moved back to the Bahamas in 1994 to start a luxury home building company in Hope Town and brought a new level of professionalism to the existing market. In 2006 he was recruited by the Ginn Company to develop a master planned community encompassing 2100 acres for a development envisioned for a resorts, casinos, luxury residential homes, world class golf courses, modern marinas, high end shopping, and a private airport.

Derek lives in Abaco with his wife and has four beautiful children. When he is not working he enjoys boating, watching college football, singing and playing guitar with friends. 

With over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, Krissy's role is to support and help manage the finer details that go into each project. She manages renovations, logistics, purchases, oversees document control, accounting, and manages websites and social media. 

Throughout the years, she has been involved in her family’s General Contracting firm in South Florida, gaining valuable experience in all aspects of construction such as design and build, commercial, residential, and the bidding process. Alongside her husband Derek, she helped start a luxury home building company in Hope Town, Bahamas, assisting and coordinating the construction of some of the island’s premiere homes.  She enjoys the design component of projects and is great at product sourcing followed by the installation of the design elements for clients.

Originally from Florida and Arizona, Krissy has been in the Bahamas for over 25 years.   

Krissy lives in Abaco, enjoys entertaining, playing tennis and boating with friends. She is a busy mom of Jack, and twins Harrison and Lucy.
